Statistics Mentor
Part of our “Statistics Success” scheme
Essential Criteria
Level 1 = Successful completion of Investigating Psychology
Level 2: Successful completion of Semester 1 Research Methods and Data Analysis
Be a Member of WAP
Be at least a Level 5 student in academic year 2019-2020
Indicative Tasks
-
Attend relevant induction and training
-
Work with staff and other Peer Mentors to develop online statistics tutorials
-
Work with staff and other Peer Mentors to develop support guides
-
Attend statistics surgeries and support sessions within modules, as appropriate
-
Support the organisation and be present for any additional optional statistics surgeries
-
Be willing to support any evaluation activities of the scheme
-
Communicate the Statistics Success scheme to the Psychology student community
-
Make all developed resources available for the Department to use
Level 6 students only

Be willing to support peers with dissertation statistics queries and support
21st Century Skills Mentor
Part of our “21st Century Skills Success” Scheme
Essential Criteria
Level 1 = Full attendance at Essential Skills in Applied Psychology sessions
Level 2: Participation in Essential Skills in Applied Psychology group work
Be a Member of WAP
Be at least a Level 5 student in academic year 2019-2020
Indicative Tasks
-
Attend relevant induction and training
-
Be a Peer Mentor attached to a year 1 workshop group for students in their Essential Skills in Applied Psychology group project tasks
-
Be present during exhibition events when year 1 students are showcasing their work
-
Work with tutors to design learning activities for forthcoming students
-
Be involved in training and interviewing new cohorts of Peer Mentors, and developing resources
-
Communicate the 21st Century Skills scheme to the Psychology student community
-
Make all developed resources available for the Department to use
-
Be willing to support any evaluation activities of the scheme
